New Year Advice For Gas Customers

03 January 2012

Despite the relatively mild Christmas period Phoenix Supply is urging natural gas customers to review their energy consumption and to ensure they are setting aside enough towards the cost of their next bill.

Although the record low temperatures experienced last winter have not, to date, been repeated this winter, customers should be mindful that bills for the winter period are generally higher. David Strahan, Managing Director of Phoenix Supply, said:

"The normal increase in consumption over the winter period will lead to higher bills for many customers. We are advising customers to read their meter and to contact us so that we can review the expected level of their next bill and discuss their payment arrangements."

"Our customers can be assured that they continue to make significant savings against heating oil which is currently around 22% more expensive than natural gas."

Phoenix Supply has a number of payment schemes where customers can budget and set money aside for their next bill. A popular method is the Energy Saver Scheme where regular payments can be made towards the cost of future bills, allowing customers to budget over a longer period. This scheme is provided at no additional cost to the customer.

The company also offers an Energy Care scheme specifically for older people and the vulnerable which includes: a free annual gas safety check, provision of special controls and adaptors, information provided in alternative formats including Braille, specialist advice and a password and nominee scheme.

For advice on flexible payment options and the Phoenix Supply Energy Care scheme gas customers should call 0845 900 5253.
